The Children's and Family Ministry (CFM) of Pleasant Valley Church exists to partner with parents in spiritually training the next generation to be wholehearted followers of God.

KidzZone Pre/K, Sunday mornings at 9 and 10:45 - We welcome Preschoolers beginning at the age range of 24-33 months through Kindergarten. The Pre/K area is just past the BTZ (Baby Toddler Zone) hallway on the first floor. Kids meet together for games, worship, and biblical teaching; then divide into small groups for crafts and snacks.  Map Books are sent home each week for a parent's peek into that week's lesson.

KidzZone Grades 1-5, Sunday mornings at 9 and 10:45 - Class meets in room 203 upstairs. Kids participate in high energy, interactive biblical learning in large group time, then break into small groups by gender and grade. Led by caring and consistent adult teams, your kids get special attention as we explore how to practically live out what God teaches in the Bible, in kid-relevant ways. The Map Book your kids bring home each week is designed as a tool to encourage spiritual conversations in families. When they are brought back signed by parents, your kids get fun team points for the day!

Security Policy

Your child will be cared for and safe no matter which classroom they are in on Sunday morning.  All of our volunteers have been screened and trained to ensure that your child is going to have a fantastic and safe time with us!  If you haven't had your family photo taken to use as an ID for picking up your child after class on Sunday morning, we ask that you take a digital photo of your family and email it to the office at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it , or bring in a hard copy and we will scan it.  Who needs to be in this photo?  Your imediate family and anyone else you'll allow to pick up your child from class.  Until the photograph project is complete, the "bracelet" method of security will continue.  Click below for details on the bracelets.

PARENTS NEWS

Can we call you?       KZ Parentz:  If it's ok with you, Diane and her team may be making some phone calls to your home this February or March to ask some survey-like questions about your kids' spiritual growth.  We are joyfully committed to coming alongside you as you nurture your kids' faith in God.  We also want to know if we are making a positive impact in your family and kid's faith, and what we can do to improve.  We value your input.

Kidz will bring home Mapbooks each Sunday.  They are a great way to reinforce the spiritual lessons your kids are learning in KidzZone.  Use them as a family devotion each day or for good spiritual conversation on car rides home from church, and perhaps befor bed each night. !  The 1st-5th grade kidz earn team points for bringing their completed, signed mapbook & Bible each Sunday!!

What do KidzZone, M&Ms and feeding the hungry have in common?  Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God's starving children, hungry in body and spirit.  They hand-pack and ship meals to more than 60 countries around the world.  This is the organization we are giving oru KidzZone offerings to this year.  We also give the kids a fun challenge!  Here's how it works:  Your child gives $1 to their kidzZone teacher and receives a tube of M&Ms.  We place the $1 in the KidzZone offering plate.  Your child eats the M&Ms, and works together with you to fill the tube with quarters.  Then they return the full tube to their KidzZone class.  We in turn will send it to Feed My Starvng Children.  Just 17 cents provides one meal for a starving child.

New Birth-5th Grade Brochures are available at the Information Center and at Parents' tables

Prayer For Kidz & Youth - Wednesdays, 7pm, room 211.  Parents, grandparents, and everyone interested is invited to a time of prayer for our KidzZone, Middle School & High School Ministries & students.  Prayer meeting runs the same time as Wednesday night youth group. 7-8: prayer; 8-8:30: fellowship.  The group will not meet when there are no Middle School activites at church.

When Should I Transition My Child Into the
KidzZone Preschool Program?

If your child is in the Toddler Zone, you may be wondering when it is time to transition into Preschool.  The Toddler Zone welcomes steady walkers up to children 36 months of age.  Our youngest Preschool class, the "lamb" room, welcomes children 24 months and up.  As you can see, there is an overlap because children develop at their own unique pace.

Our hope is that your child will be fully engaged while they are with us.  You and your BTZ leader may notice some signs showing your child is ready to move to the Lamb room:  child is bored with BTZ toys, child is growing too big for play equipment in the BTZ, child needs larger space to move around.  If you think your child may be ready to move into the KidzZone lamb room (#108), feel free to make that move.  If you have questions, please talk with our BTZ Coordinator, Kelly Faegen (450.5091) or Diane (452.5518).  We may also contact you personally if we see signs that your child is ready to move.

              " Birthdays for Bethany"

Dear Parentz of Pre/K’s and grades 1-5,

We have a new Kidz Helping Kidz project, and I'd like to explain it in more detail to you!

~ your kidz and you parentz get to help a 6 year old Romanian girl go to school!! Bethany is a real girl, and this is her story:

Bethany lives in Romania with her mom, dad, and 5 brothers and sisters in a two bedroom apartment. She is 6 years old and attends Samuel Kindergarten, but her family cannot pay the fee of $120 per month. She gives her allowance of $15 per month to help pay, but it is not enough. (Note: her family lives on $333 a month.)

We are rich compared to her family! Let’s share!

If each KidzZone kid gives an average of $18 on their birthday, we can pay for Bethany’s school for one year! Extra money will go 100% to the 3 other Romanian kidz we want to help: Paul Sebastian, Emima Damaris, and Roxanna.

Give in two ways:
1) Kidz: Place your KidzZone Sunday morning offering in the Bethany Birthday Box each week (on parentz table)

2) Parentz: When it’s your child’s birthday month, give either $18 or up to half of what you’d spend on your child’s birthday to Bethany for her schooling. (This will be different for everyone.)

Cash and checks can go in the Bethany Birthday Box. Checks should be written to Pleasant Valley Church with “Bethany” written in the memo. (You may also place checks in the offering in the adult services.)

Please see the display on your Parentz Tables and take a special magnet for your fridge. The magnets will help you remember Bethany, plus these details are on the back of the magnet! Together, you and your kidz can help kidz around the world.

Serving YOUth,

~Diane
