First Impressions Ministry is made up presently of six ministry teams: Ushers, Greeters, Information Center, Parking Attendants, Safety Team, and the Sunday Morning Coffee Team. They, like all other ministries at Pleasant Valley Church, are energized by the conviction that people matter to God, therefore they matter to us! These ministry teams work to accomplish one common purpose. That purpose is to help create a positive and friendly atmosphere during the worship service by serving all who come in some very practical ways.
This begins outside as people are looking for a place to park—Our Parking Ministry Team helps people find available parking in our crowded parking lot.
It continues as people enter the building—Our Greeting Ministry Team welcomes people, then --the Information Center Team helps them locate certain ministries (nursery, Kidz Zone Classes, etc.).
It continues as people enter the Ministry Center to attend our worship services—Our Usher Ministry Team greets them, offers them a bulletin, and helps them locate seating.
Between services, --the Sunday Morning Coffee Team serves all during a time of fellowship.
--The Safety Team keeps our children and hallways safe while we worship and have classes.
Here at Pleasant Valley Church, we believe first impressions can make lasting impressions which allow for ministry to take place and lives to be changed.

The Kind of People These Ministry Teams are Looking For:
First Impressions Ministry has a desire for more people to join their ministry teams and enjoy the fruit of significant ministry. Faithful, friendly, and helpful men and women, who may have either the gift of service or hospitality, enjoy these ministries a great deal. By joining these ministry teams, a person can make a significant contribution toward Pleasant Valley Church by helping to make a great first impression on people (first time guests and long-time attenders).

Visiting a church can be an intimidating or confusing experience. The Greeter's Ministry serves people coming to Pleasant Valley Church by carrying out several crucial tasks:
*Greeting individuals as they enter our church facility, introducing ourselves in a friendly, non-threatening manner.

*Possibly escorting them to the Nursery, Kidz Zone, etc.

*Respecting the anonymity any guest may desire.

The Greeter's Ministry team is always looking for people who are friendly, enjoy meeting and greeting people, and helping guests.

In a growing church, parking space is a real premium. The Parking Ministry Team serves people by helping them locate parking and reduce the “search and park” stage of coming to Pleasant Valley Church. It also increases the number of cars that are able to park in our available space by helping people park in an efficient manner.

In light of the demand for parking on Sunday mornings, this ministry is vitally important. This is a great ministry for individuals who enjoy serving others, and enjoy being outside (or at least don’t mind it on cold Minnesota mornings).
The Parking Ministry Team is in need of several more people. We are looking for both men and women to usher at our Sunday morning worship celebrations.  If interested please contact Don Hatlevig: 643-6464.

The Usher Ministry serves people coming to Pleasant Valley church by carrying out several crucial tasks.

Create a warm, friendly atmosphere before, during, and after our worship services.
Serving people as they enter the worship service by greeting them, offering a bulletin, helping them find a seat if necessary, and providing whatever other guidance or help they may need.
Serving people by helping with other necessary functions of the worship service: offering, attendance count, etc.
Provide for a smooth, orderly process for people entering and leaving church services.

The Usher Ministry uses teams of Ushers that work together on a regularly scheduled, rotating basis. Each team has a team leader and a group of ushers.
There is need for individuals who desire to serve Christ and the many people of Pleasant Valley Church by committing to become a team leader of an usher team or an usher.
