cURRENT cLASS OFFERINGS
Upcoming Class offerings
1st John: How to Know You Have Eternal Life, a Precepts 11 week study, will be offered on Thursdays, beginning September 9th, from noon-2pm, and from 5-7pm. All participants are welcome to bring their lunch or dinner and eat during class. Kathy Dickinson will lead an inductive study where you'll be challenged, "How do you know if you're really born again? What does it mean to be holy...to love God?" Participants will find answers to these and other questions as they take a look at the fundamentals of Christian beliefs. $30 for materials if registered by September 1st, $36 after. Register below.
Pray Like Jesus, a 12 week study, will be offered on Mondays, beginning September 13th, from 7-9pm. What do the Gospels tell us about the personal prayer life of Jesus? Surprisingly much. Prayer was the heart of His life. Ten times we are given specific prayers that Jesus prayed while on this earth. Join Pastor Rick as he uses the Gospels, Hebraic and cultural history, and deep practical insight, to help us experience prayer in a fresh way. In John chapter 11, Jesus looked at His Father and said, "Father, I thank you that You have listened to Me". Jesus knew that every time He prayed, his Father was right there listening. We, too, can learn to pray like Jesus. $10 for materials. Register below.
Why take a PVI course?
Pleasant Valley Church is a place where people are experiencing new beginnings in Christ. People, young and old, experiencing the great blessing of salvation. This is just the beginning. God desires all His Children to grow spiritually toward maturity and be equipped to live significant and fruitful lives.
Spiritual maturity involves progressive change in three key areas of our lives:
Character: Our Heart—Becoming progressively more like Christ in our attitudes and actions.
Knowledge: Our Head—Grasping the major themes of Scripture and forging an understanding of faith and life based on Scripture.
Skill: Our Hands—Developing our gifts and skills and employing them for ministry in the church and world for the purpose of bringing glory to God.
PVI exists to encourage growth in these vital areas in people’s lives. It is primarily a teaching and equipping ministry. Various topics and issues will be offered in one of three different formats:
Weekly classes
Seminars
Conferences
